Implementation of Comprehensive Thermal Modernization of Multi-Apartment Buildings
Since 2015, the EU/UNDP Project “Community-Based Local Development” (CLD) has been actively working in Ukrainian cities. The tasks and activities of the urban component of the CLD Project are aimed at assisting cities in addressing certain development issues based on partnership principles between local community organizations, self-government bodies, and the UN Development Programme. The CLD Project promotes the establishment of condominiums, disseminates effective management methods and maintenance of multi-apartment residential buildings, and assists co-owners who have united in condominiums in organizing and conducting major repairs and implementing energy efficiency measures for their buildings.
The implementation of comprehensive thermal modernization of multi-apartment buildings, according to project documentation developed based on energy audit recommendations and requirements of current standards and norms, significantly improved the technical condition of the buildings and enabled co-owner residents to ensure comfortable living conditions with optimal energy resource consumption, which is economically important for household budgets given the constant increase in energy costs.
The stages and components of implementing comprehensive thermal modernization of buildings, as well as the experience and knowledge gained by co-owner associations during implementation and documented by the CLD Project, will be used by other condominiums planning to conduct comprehensive thermal modernization of their buildings using their own funds, participating in municipal/state programs, or through bank loans.
Total area of insulated facades for both facilities – 6,147 m².
