Installation of Shop Enclosure Structures

The Continuous Casting Machine Complex No. 4 was developed incorporating the latest technologies in compliance with European environmental standards. It will increase the steel production capacity of Ilyich Iron and Steel Works by almost 40%. The modern CCM equipment will enable metallurgists to improve energy efficiency, product quality, and enhance the processing of pig iron into premium segment products.

The modern CCM-4 complex includes: a twin-strand continuous casting machine; a two-position ladle furnace; gas cleaning system ensuring pollutant emissions at world-class standards – 12 mg/m3; water management unit with a water tower; 110/36 kV step-down substation with 110 kV overhead line; compressor and argon station. Overall, the improved slab quality reduces defects and increases annual product yield to 98%.

The CCM complex employs some of the most advanced dust removal and water recycling technologies for cooling. The complex’s gas cleaning equipment meets EU environmental requirements: thanks to the high-class aspiration system, the technogenic impact on the city is minimal.

The new steel-making complex for slab production has created 347 new jobs in Mariupol’s converter and service shops.

This is the largest industrial construction project since Ukraine’s independence. Work began in 2016, and in March 2019, the continuous casting machine was put into industrial operation.

Installation of 12,000 m² of wall enclosure completed.
